How do I switch my website to a new Host
The great thing about domain names and web hosts is that they are separate things.
Your domain name can point to any hosting company or web space that you wish.
You do this by changing your DNS (Domain Name Server) to point to the nameservers of your Host.
A nameserver is just a special name used by a computer that Hosts websites.
They usually start with ns. or dns. and then the domain name of the Host.
For ClickHOST.com our nameservers are:
There are 2 nameservers listed for 2 seperate servers (computers) so if one is not available, the other one will do the job.
You can change your nameservers by logging into the Domain Management section of your client area (https://www.clickhost.com/order/clientarea.php) and changing your DNS entries to your new Host. If you don't see your domain then please submit a support ticket.
The change usually takes about an hour to work, but it can take up to 24 hours to make it around the world.
Switch your DNS anytime you want, and as often as you want.
Just remember to cancel any hosting plans you signed up for AFTER switching.
You don't want to be paying for a service you are not using.
